Who Belongs on the Mountain? An unlikely group takes on a “Tanzanian-only” ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in this sharp satire. The dramedy follows a Tanzanian-American tourist, two missionaries, and their guide as they make their way toward the “Roof of Africa.” They must confront questions of access, identity, and who deserves a place on the mountain.

The tradition continues at Art Factory, as our raucous production of THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW makes its triumphant return! Brad Majors and Janet Weiss are just your average, everyday couple. Newly engaged, they trek out on a dark and stormy night, to deliver their happy news to a former science teacher. When a flat tire leads them to the foreboding doors of an ill-placed gothic castle, their lives are transformed forever. Hike up those fishnets and strap on those stilettos for this raunchy ride through sexual awakening! Art Factory encourages costumes and call-outs, making this production a fully immersive and high-octane night of zany, sexy fun! The production will culminate with an extra-spooky final performance on Halloween night! 

Great Gold Bird is a narrative-focused “wander play” inspired by immersive theatre, alternate reality games, and escape rooms. Henry Combs is missing, and he wants to be found. He's left a trail of clues in his personal ephemera for you to follow. As you sort through the contents of his life, you discover a personal history of love and grief that takes you to multiple locations across Houston and planes of existence.

Margulies’ incisive dialogue and unflinching honesty make this contemporary classic as relevant today as ever, challenging audiences to ask: How well do we really know the people we love?

The Classical Theatre Company opens its 19th Season with the master of wit and language, George Bernard Shaw, and his hilarious farce, Arms and the Man. It is the first time since 2017’s Mrs. Warren’s Profession that CTC has produced a play by the playwright.

Arms and the Man follows Raina Petkoff and the idealistic view of war she holds until she shelters Captain Bluntschli, a practical Swiss mercenary who values survival over heroics. As misunderstandings and romantic entanglements unfold, the characters' illusions about love, courage, and social status are challenged by Bluntschli's realism. By the end, the play satirizes romantic ideals and shows that honesty, practicality, and genuine affection are more valuable than appearances and empty notions of glory.

Directed by John Johnston, who most recently directed the critically-acclaimed Othello for Classical Theatre Company.

Lone Star College–University Park brings Mary Shelley’s classic to life in Nick Dear’s adaptation of *Frankenstein*. Told through the creature’s eyes, this haunting drama follows his search for acceptance in a world that fears him, exploring what it means to be human.

In rural Tennessee, a young woman becomes the target of suspicion and religious hypocrisy after church elders discover her bathing. Carlisle Floyd’s American opera draws on folk songs and revival music to tell a devastating story of innocence and exclusion. Angel Blue stars in Patricia Racette’s new production. Sung in English with projected English text. Approximately 2 hours 5 minutes, including one intermission. Contains adult themes and a gunshot.

Fresh from a hit Broadway run starring Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone, this cheeky comedy centers on recently divorced, middle-aged, and quintessentially Midwestern Sharon who reluctantly rents out a room to Robyn, a worldly, spiritually hip vegan from New York. Polar opposites, the women initially clash but soon find themselves confiding their deep dissatisfactions with life to each other.

Molly Ward was seven years old when she died in this very room in 1978.

The ghost of a scared kid takes over a local haunted history tour in an unexpectedly real crisis. How it goes depends on you — can you gentle parent a poltergeist?

The Spooky Tale, Told Anew

Founding Artistic Director Alric Davis stars as Victor Frankenstein alongside acclaimed actor Steve Scott as the Creature in Tim Kelly’s adaptation of Frankenstein. Driven by ambition and a desire to conquer death, Victor Frankenstein creates life — and immediately rejects the being he has brought into the world. Shunned by his creator and feared by society, the Creature is forced into isolation, learning humanity only through observation while being denied it at every turn. Frankenstein challenges audiences to reconsider who the real monster is: the one who is feared, or the world that refuses to see his humanity.

Love and loss in the digital age: Merril, a Silicon Valley programmer, uses AI to resurrect her missing sister. What starts as a coping mechanism becomes an obsession, leading to an unexpected thriller.
