About the production
A disillusioned composer bargains away his soul for renewed youth and the chance to pursue Marguerite. Set in Belle Époque Paris, David McVicar’s staging of Gounod’s opera follows desire, temptation, and the terrible cost of Faust’s pact. Sung in French with projected English translation. Approximately 3 hours 15 minutes, including one intermission. Contains adult material and a gunshot.
