Fresh from a hit Broadway run starring Mia Farrow and Patti LuPone, this cheeky comedy centers on recently divorced, middle-aged, and quintessentially Midwestern Sharon who reluctantly rents out a room to Robyn, a worldly, spiritually hip vegan from New York. Frankenstein
Sankofa Collective
10/30/26 - 11/2/26 at the Pearl Theater
Founding Artistic Director Alric Davis stars as Victor Frankenstein alongside acclaimed actor Steve Scott as the Creature in Tim Kelly’s adaptation of Frankenstein. Driven by ambition and a desire to conquer death, Victor Frankenstein creates life — and immediately rejects the being he has brought into the world. Shunned by his creator and feared by society, the Creature is forced into isolation, learning humanity only through observation while being denied it at every turn. Frankenstein challenges audiences to reconsider who the real monster is: the one who is feared, or the world that refuses to see his humanity.

Musical
Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical
Stages
11/20/26 - 12/27/26 at the Lester and Sue Smith Stage
Deck the halls, trailer park style. Set in the delightfully tacky town of Armadillo Acres, Florida, this holiday musical features a motley crew of feisty yet lovable townsfolk. With temperatures lowering and tinsel trees erected, the trailer park’s quirky inhabitants wrestle with family drama, romantic hijinks, and a sleigh-full of holiday chaos, made even more complicated by the sudden arrival of an unexpected visitor who threatens to upend the festivities. Adorned with outrageous humor, toe-tapping country-rock songs, and plenty of yuletide cheer, this fast-paced musical delivers big laughs and proves that underneath the tinsel and the southern twang lies a heartfelt reminder that even the most unconventional families can find love, forgiveness, and joy.

The Mountaintop
Stages
2/5/27 - 2/28/27 at the Sterling Stage
Winner of the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play. On the night of April 3, 1968, as the heralded words delivered that afternoon during his Mountaintop speech still echo outside, Dr. King sits inside Room 306 at the Lorraine Motel. Wrestling with his next speech and desperately craving a coffee and cigarette, enters Camae, the motel’s quick witted, attractive maid supplied with refreshment and some down home, tell-it-like-it-is wisdom. Their teasing banter soon leads to powerful exchanges on family, race, love, mortality, and legacy. Funny, tender, and at times magical, Katori Hall’s play is a poignant reflection of the father, husband, and devoted man behind the legend.
